OK, our top celebrity, Lindsay Lohan decided that her current popularity and reputation is not enough, let’s ruin a bit more… sorry, let’s build it up a bit more. Answering to NY-Magazine’s call she is posing as cover-girl, naked and the best is: she looks like Marilyn Monroe.
I’m always amazed when a TV star, a celebrity from Hollywood or any other part of the world has to appeal to other celebrities popularity to build their own further… maybe it’s just me but i think it’s a bit pathetic.
Anyway, here are some shots so you can decide if you like them or not.
Maybe I shouldn’t state my personal opinion and should remain objective, but this is pathetic…

There is no-way that she could ever be like marilyn, she has to many ugly freckles, and very rough looking skin, and she also has a very manlY face/body, nothing cute about that! No one can ever do it like marilyn, her skin was flawless, was a milky soft creamy white and almost pure, clearly unlike “LOHAN THE MAN”!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m not defending miss Lindsay as… for many reasons, but Monroe also had his issues like drinking and doubtful sex relations.
Probably everyone has some problems.
Anyway, I do agree with you: she could do something with her skin, a milky skin like Michel J’s would be just perfect
she is hot!!!!! the photos are too hot to touch!!! her body is exceptional!!!! A normal looking woman with normal hair, normal skin. NOTHING is hotter than her natural look. BRAVO to Lindsay!!! I look forward to seeeing more!!! I am going out right now to buy the New Yorker!!!

i think she’s absolutely terrible. she can’t just go from a washed-up rehab guest to one of the most iconic women in history! she doesn’t even look like monroe, and while i can definitely see her motivations for doing the shoot, i think it’s the shoot in the first place that’s the bad idea. it would be better to make an impression upon the shoot rather than copying the whole thing, you know?
i don’t mind her freckles as much, its just she doesn’t look pretty in the pictures they decided to print [she looks fine in a few outtakes] and i think they’re just… not good :/

I don’t really like the photos all that much. Yes the freckles are one thing. Also her face looks rough not feminine like Marilyn’s. IF YOUR GOING TO GO THROUGH ALL THAT WHY NOT GET SOMEONE WHO AT LEAST RESEMBLES MARILYN SHE WAS AND STILL IS AN ICON!
I have read on a few sites about this topic and I am amazed that everyone thinks Merilyn Monroe was such a great actress. My parents grew up with Merilyn movies and let me tell you neither one of them or any of my aunts and uncles ever had anything good to say about Merilyn Monroe, I believe the choice comment was dumb Blond. Have you people watched her movies she was a terrible actress, not even close to any of the greats like Katherine Hepburn to name just one. LiLo is a good actress and if she would get over the fame thing and get to work picking some good scripts she could win an Oscar unlike Merilyn.
oh and one more thing since when are freckles ugly and unhealthy. You people are crazy they a natural and you get them from being outside and active when a child. This is such a 70’s idea that freckles are bad. I spent me whole childhood listening to this crap and now that I am older I love my freckles and wouldn’t be with out them. They are a testimony to summers spent at the cottage.
I cannot believe that she had the audacity to try and portray an icon like Monroe! No one can compare to her, especially Lindsey Lohan. She doesn’t even look like her! Anyone can slap on a blond wig and pose nude, but if you want to portray someone at LEAST get someone who is an ICON and in the limelight positively not some washed up drug/alcohol addicted celebrity. Yes I know Monroe was drug addicted as well, but to use Lohan as the model…not a good choice. She looks nothing like her, she looks pathetic in the photos and as far as I can remember…Monroe looked FABULOUS in photos…bad choice VERY BAD choice.
Oh and I think she’s trying WAY to hard to look like her…like forcing her face to look like Monroe’s. She looks like Lindsey Lohan, in a short blond wig…imitating Marilyn Monroe…in a very poor way
As I wrote in the article, Lindsay tries to use Monroe’s reputation to build up a bit her own. Not a miracle anyway as especially miss Lohan always tried to get herself in the middle of the world’s attention…
not sure why these so-called stars of today can’t think up their own orginal ideas…she is in no way, Miss Monroe!
Well there is the question, Why pick Lindsay for this shoot. Could had used someone different. I do admit there are maybe two photos in here that are tastefully done, the scarf photos, but thats pretty much it, whether she looks like her well I say no one can touch Marilyn’s famous look. I agree with the skin thing though, Monroes skin was a nice milky color, plus M.M. had more of a voluptuous body.

Was any of the girls, Lindsay or Lohan better than the other? Both women’s life is full of controversy, sexual relations with persons they shouldn’t have, drugs, nightlife to mention only a few things. They are bad girls from many points of view.
Freckles. Well, others are bald or are only 4 feet high. That shouldn’t be an attacking point in my humble opinion.
She will never be Marilyn Monroe, never. Lindsay just wanted to put her body out there. Well, her is to you LiLo, you have to uses a blond wig and get plastic surgery and you will always be in the shadow of the great Marilyn Monroe, who’s full named deserved to be typed unlike that stupid poser.

First of all, Marilyn was 36. Lohan is 21….but she looks older than MM. I am surprised Bert didn’t ask someone like Charlize T., or even Naomi Watts to do this. They have a vulnerable quality Lohan does not have. They look a heck of a lot more like MM than LL.
Lindsay needs to let people find the similarity in their lives, if there is any instead of shoving it down people’s throats.
Her face is too long. Her eyes are the wrong shape and her lips…plus mm’s boobs were smaller at that point due to weight loss. Definitely this was for LL and not for MM.
i was surprised at how well the pictures turned out. I think it turned out very respectful. Lohan does a great job posing and displaying a mature innocence. However, i don’t think she holds a candle (hehe) to Marilyn–No Hips!
I agree that Lindsay doesn’t have the certain ‘touch’ that Marilyn had. However, I DON’T agree with the people who said that MM had a better body than Lindsay. Marilyn’s chest was average, and her legs were too short for her body.
Lindsay has it all and she isn’t afraid to show she is better looking that Marilyn ever was. End of story!

Well, I have just finished reading everyone’s oppinions on the whole lohan on marilyn shoot … I do have to say the majority of you are idiots and had you done you’re reascher you would not have said what was said … first off marilyn was a wonderful actress who was always missplaced in her roles by the studio … and she faught tirelessly till the day she died against the studio’s choice to place her in the same role each time … and as far as Lohan “trying” to recreate the “last sitting” I hope she had fun and enjoyed herself but it was a total faliure … her eyes look dead and lifeless … how ever there is nothing wrong w/ her damn freckles Marilyn had them herself … if you go and study other photos that have been done on her w/o makeup they are there … I would have loved to see Lohan maybe try to do her own take on “the las sitting” shoot … I think she went wrong when in her words she studied all the photos and was trying to recreate the shoot right down to Marilyn’s looks … no one can or will ever be mairlyn … there was only one marilyn she was talented, missused, and yes beautiful … we has here for a short period of time and we need to remember her for what she brought to us not how she died. So, please unless you know what you are talking about when it comes to this wonderful woman please don’t say anything.

I think that MM’s sitting was far more tasteful AND sexy. MM didn’t force you–it was a peek-a-boo game. MM was 36 at that shoot back in 1962–Ms. Lohan is still a girl. The remarks about Ms. Lohan’s skin, or that she looked like a man was mean spirited and not at all about the integrity of the shoot.
The nipple forced in your face was not at all sexy–was it cold? Very unappealing from an artistic point of view. MM’s would have been soft and welcoming.
Ms. Lohan went for nudity and then didn’t? The undies distracted–ad of some sort?
I liked the close up of the diamonds and eye lashes–she seemed to have gotten that.
The play with the scarf we okay. Still seemed intimidated from the idea of the shoot?
Curious to know if Ms.Lohan had someone on the set that knew about MM to guide her? If she stated she’s a fan–shame on her for not doing more homework.
Ms.Lohan should have gone with a 60’s theme and made her own “siting”. Either go with the original “sitting” and don’t stray because nobody likes a sub-standard immitation.
