Create the perfect president for USA
(HN4U) — A brand new, uncommon idea coming from the US: designing the perfect president for the USA.
The site is a research project run by graduate students in the Department of Communication of Cornell University but also meant to create a community. The owners stated that if enough people will participate, it may form a “wish-list” about what the population of the United State wants.
In the interface the user can change almost everything, the imaginary president’s beliefs, sex. The users may edit the president’s verbal reactions to news events, photo, schedule, and many other.
The site uses a widely known software released under GPL license, named “Wiki”. The software is also used by the infamous “Wikipedia” as back-end engine. The interesting in this software is that it enables for any user which has an account and is logged in to the web-site, to edit (almost) every page.
The same happens on Wikicandidate as well: every user of the site may add, remove, change the content, thus an imaginary candidate would reflect many people’s imagination about how the perfect candidate would look like.
